Pet Care Cats
Feel Sad No More With a Pet Cat
One of the popular pets is the cat. Some people love them because they are sweet and affectionate. But just like any other animal your pet cat also has a wild and vicious side especially when they are attacked or provoked. You will know that your pet cat is angry when he arches his back and his fur is raised. This is a sign that the cat is already angry and ready to attack. Cats attack by using their sharp nails and scratching their enemy. They can also slap and bite. One will usually end up with scratches and cuts after the cat calms down. Only on rare occasions do people get seriously hurt through cat attacks. Yet still one should be very careful in provoking the cat because no one wants a fight. On the lighter side of cats, they are also fond of playing. You may notice that your pet cat is fond of strings the reason behind this is because they see the string as the tail of their mother. Cats look for each other and follow one another through their tails. Sometimes when cats are playing with another it may seem that they are fighting because they make loud noises and they look like they are wrestling one another. But the truth is they also play the same way. The only difference is that when they are angry they bite and scratch.
Now when it comes to the nutrition of your pet cat they need essential vitamins and minerals like carbohydrates, protein, fiber and fats. Cat foods are available in the market and can be bought any time you need one. Just make sure that you read the label of the cat food before purchasing it, check if it has all the essential nutrients your pet cat needs. Another important consideration is the recommendation of your veterinarian. Since vets know the specific food that your cat needs he will be a lot of help when it comes to deciding what to feed your cat. Cats need different kinds of food depending on what stage they are in. Kittens have special needs that are different from those senior cats. Just to be sure better to consult the vet. Cats also get infected with different diseases like urinary tract infection, upper respiratory infection, kidney failure and diabetes. Diseases are usually transmitted through viruses from other cats. When you have two or more cats living in one place it's best to bring them to the vet regularly so as to prevent problems. Another problem with the cat is fleas. We all know that fleas can be dangerous and it can lead to anemia, and tapeworms. One thing you can do to prevent fleas from infecting your pet cat is to make sure that the cat is always clean. Good grooming is the answer.
All in all caring for cats require a lot of effort on the owner's part but once you've done it you'll see that it's very fulfilling.

who is right hsus.org or catinfo.org? (Answers: 9) (Comments: 0)
http://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/cat_care/feeding_your_cat.html - I just read that article and it claims you can feed your cat commercial food, yet this other one claims you should not http://www.catinfo.org/ . Who is right in YOUR OPINION? I am inclined to caninfo since it makes sense that cats are carnivores not rice/grain eaters, however, the "Humane Society of the United States" says it is right... Another thing I found is that most pet food contains "animal-by products", I read what that means and is not very nice. It is dead animals not fit for human consumption. This can include bones, intestines, beaks, feathers, fish bones, blood etc... (do the research). Seriously, I don't think I want to feed my cat any of that. Truth is, if I won't eat it, why should my cat.
There are not thumbs up or down on this question cause at the end its just an opinion. I will award points to whoever answers first thoroughly. I just want to get additional feedback and possibly other sites I can look at to support both views.
It would be interesting to know if any of you work at a pet food manufacturer and what you have to say.
Thanx
Just in case someone asks. I'm not here to argue, debate, or contradict anyone. I own fish and always try to replicate their natural environment...even food. I have found many things that people put their fish through just because they think of them as "ornaments". They use bowls and sometimes don't even provide them with the basics to let them live a nice life.
I think we have the responsibility as pet owners to understand that pets are not humans and should not treat them as such. This includes their eating habits. I have never owned cats before and should have researched this long before I got them, but I thought I was doing a good thing by "caring" for them when nobody else wanted them.
Im here in search of more information and how I can do the best for my cats Mumble and Cookie... Here is their pic http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=16577193&albumID=297265&imageID=50093167

Ginger school bully boy kills his school peer with psychic energies? (Answers: 1) (Comments: 0)
There was a mysterious boy who loved ginger.
He stank of it and had ginger hair and freckles all over his body like this...
http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/1008/50281497.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.dkimages.com/discover/Home/Animals/Pets-and-Pet-Care/Cats/Kittens/Kittens-101.html&h=424&w=412&sz=42&hl=en&start=5&sig2=Dnv62FBPxDz1sFyGRJVJmg&usg=__ABkBKt2-BMID1J3Uv-ac2daylj8=&tbnid=kGEiz2cSZYGxLM:&tbnh=126&tbnw=122&ei=MF3qSLXXNZSc0QTjyuiLDA&prev=/images%3Fq%3DGinger%2Bheaded%2Bboy%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den
Apperently he was found to be in a room in the dark with a boy he hates and he said to him "Do you trust me?" as the ginger boy's eyes lit up orange color and the room reeked of incredibly strong ginger.
The other boy could taste and smell it at magnitudes so great that he said that it started to burn his body and his eyes, and he started crying with the pain, which got worse until he was screaming and shrieking in agony and started to bleed from his ears.
The other boy was later found to be dead due to having generallized covulsions according to the autopsy, and rumores followed that he was apparently taken to hell to burn in a pit of fire for eternity at infinity degrees fahrienhiet.
Ginger boy is extremely violent and said to be a boy that is very disturbing and freaky. Many people have known of some very strange things taking place around him.
He makes light bulbs blow when he walks past them and has been accused of arson on about 5 occasions.
Is this wierd of what?
What would you do around this sort of child?

Are Humane Society shelters? (Answers: 9) (Comments: 0)
affiliated with the HSUS? I ask because I ran up on this Humane Society shelter in Inverness, Florida which is declawing kittens BEFORE adoption and is including the price of the declaw in it's adoption fee.
http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=13467909
I find this appalling and against what the Humane Society stands behind according to it's website. The website opposes declaw unless "medically necessary" and says it should be done only as a "last resort when all other other options have been exhausted".
http://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/cat_care/declawing_cats_more_than_just_a_manicure/
I have contacted Jen Hobgood, Director of HSUS in Florida at about this but haven't heard from her yet. I'm just wondering if the HSUS would allow a shelter to do this if they were part of an affiliation?
Jen's email is jhobgood@humanesociety.org if anyone else wants to express concern to her over this atrocious matter.
Update: Jen Hobgood is on maternity leave. The lady I spoke with at the HSUS in Florida said they have received numerous complaints about the Inverness shelter but were unaware of the declawing situation there. While the HSUS is not affiliated with this shelter, she assured me they would send a representative to the shelter to counsel and investigate the complaints. I emailed the shelter at "bouvierrescue04@aol.com" I hope the shelter will change their policy. Shelters are all these cats have. When they turn on the cats, where do they turn after that?
